If you're curious about reusable paper towels and wondering if they’re right for you, you’re not alone! We get lots of great questions from customers who are looking for a simple, practical way to reduce waste without overcomplicating their life. So today, I’m answering some of the most common questions we hear.
Why are they called reusable paper towels?
A lot of people wonder why they’re called that, after all, they’re not made of paper! We call them reusable paper towels because they’re sized to fit on a standard paper towel holder, but instead of tossing them after one use, you wash and reuse them again and again.
How many fit on a roll?
You can fit quite a few, but we usually recommend rolling about 24 towels at a time. Beyond that, they start to get a little bulky and don’t stay on the roll as nicely.
How many do you recommend starting with?
Most people start with 16 reusable paper towels, which is plenty for everyday use. You can always add more over time as you get used to reaching for them more often.
How are these different from tea towels or washcloths?
They're different in both size and fabric and we find we use them for different things. Our reusable paper towels are 10x12 inches, perfectly sized for a paper towel holder. They’re made from soft 100% cotton flannel, which makes them flexible, absorbent, and ideal for kitchen messes, spills, lunchboxes, hand drying, and so much more.
How do they stick together?
No snaps, Velcro, or fasteners needed! The flannel naturally clings together when rolled, keeping your towels neat, tidy, and easy to grab.
Are they absorbent?
Yes! In fact, they actually become more absorbent after a few washes as the flannel softens up. We use them for wiping counters, drying hands, cleaning up spills, you name it.
How do you wash them?
Super simple: just toss them in with your regular laundry. Machine wash and dry, no special care required.
Please Note: They will shrink slightly as they are not prewashed and are made of 100% cotton flannel.
Do you still use regular paper towels?
You don’t have to go completely paper towel free to make a difference. In our house, we still keep some regular paper towels for certain things, but we use them far less than we used to. Reusable paper towels are an easy, low-stress way to cut back on single-use waste while still being practical for your household.

We make the reusable paper towels right here in our Thunder Bay workshop, and we also work with a few other skilled Canadian sewists to help us keep up with demand!
Hello,
Do you make the paper towel or are they manufactured elsewhere
