I was just at a local market recently, and I noticed I was getting asked the same three questions about our Beeswax Wraps over and over again, so I figured I’d share them here, just in case you’ve wondered the same!
By the way, I love when people ask questions. 😉
1️⃣ How long do beeswax wraps last?
Beeswax wraps typically last about a year, but with a little care, you can easily extend their life.
My favorite tip? Refresh them with a hairdryer!
Just blow warm air over the wrap until the wax gets shiny and starts to melt, then flip it over and do the same on the other side. Wave it in the air to cool, and it’s good as new!
I’ve had people at markets tell me they’ve had their wraps for years. Over time, they’ll start to feel more like fabric and less like wax...that’s when you know they’ve been well-loved and put to good use.
2️⃣ How do you wash beeswax wraps?
The secret is cold water. I like to fill my sink with cold, soapy water and gently wipe them clean with a cloth. Then I just hang them on my drying rack to air dry.
Avoid warm or hot water, as it can melt the wax coating. Keeping it cool will help your wraps last much longer.
If you’re in a hurry, you can also rinse them under cold running water and pat them dry. They’re naturally antibacterial, so cleaning them is simple and low-maintenance.
3️⃣ What can you use beeswax wraps for?
So many things! My favorite way to use them is to keep cut fruits and vegetables fresh in the fridge. Before I switched, I used to go through piles of plastic baggies...beeswax wraps completely replaced those for me.
They’re also perfect for:
🥪 Snacks in lunches (fold into little pouches!)
🧀 Wrapping cheese to keep it fresh
🥣 Covering bowls or jars instead of plastic wrap
Once you start using them, you’ll find yourself reaching for them constantly. They’re one of those small swaps that makes a big difference in cutting down waste.
Ready to give them a try?
Each wrap is handmade in Canada with natural beeswax, tree resin, and jojoba oil. They’re reusable, compostable, and designed to last through hundreds of uses.
And if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I love hearing from you!
